Stressful Holidays

The holiday season can often leave us feeling overwhelmed and stressed out. With all the social obligations, gift shopping, and meal planning, it's easy to forget to take care of ourselves during this time of year. But, just like nature slows down and goes inside during the winter months, we too should take time to slow down and recharge.

Self-care during this hectic season is more important than ever. Below are some tips on how to incorporate it into your holiday routine.

The holiday season is a time of year that can easily drain our energy. We are constantly on the go, rushing from one thing to another, and often forget that we need to slow down and take care of ourselves. This often leads to anxiety, exhaustion, and sometimes a crash in January or February.

To combat this it's important to take some time for yourself each day. It can be as simple as taking a few deep breaths, going for a walk in nature, or reading a book before bed. Whatever it is, make sure it's something that fills you up and nurtures you from the inside out.

Another way to incorporate self-care during the holiday season is through yoga or meditation. These practices can help relieve stress, calm the mind, and bring a sense of peace to the body. Taking a class a couple of times a week, signing up for a private or private group restorative yoga or sound healing session, or booking private yoga lessons (all are currently on sale) are great ways to counteract all the craziness during the holidays and balance your nervous system.

Rest

It's important to remember that rest is as important as activity. Take breaks when you need to and consider saying no to invites you'd rather not go to. It's important to slow down and take care of yourself.

Lastly, embrace the season's unique pleasures and experiences. Instead of being swept away by the holiday hustle, pause to notice small delights – the aroma of hot cocoa, your favourite sweater, or time spent with those you love. These simple moments can balance this busy time.

Taking time to slow down, recharge, and connect with yourself can help you stay grounded during a hectic time of year. Whether through yoga, meditation or simply taking a few mindful moments each day, prioritize your well-being and allow yourself to enjoy the season. If you need additional support, consider booking a private group for a less stressful holiday get-together or taking a private session or two to connect to help you stay on track with your self-care.

Here's to a joyful and peaceful holiday season filled with self-love and compassion.
